The Goods on the Black Market

For this week’s nightcap interview we headed down to the Magic City for some sun, and a chat with Erick Passo, Mike Mora, and Shane Vernon. They’re the owners of Black Market Miami, a newly opened sports bar with an 80’s theme in downtown Miami – putting out great food, awesome cocktails, and kick-ass entertainment. They’re also Co-founders of Red Rabbit Presents, a promotion company throwing some of the hottest events in a city you didn’t think could get any hotter. A mojito may go best with their story, but feel free to grab anything cold.

Yo-Ho-Ho and a Bottle of Rum with Martin Cate

For this week’s nightcap interview we threw on our best Hawaiian shirt and caught up with Martin Cate. Martin is a rum and exotic cocktail expert, and the owner and creator of Smuggler’s Cove in San Francisco – which features the largest rum collection in the United States. With too many awards to list (“Top 50 bars in the world” by Drinks International is just one), new projects under his belt, and a book to boot – Martin is the man for a chat on rum. Don your best as we sip and talk tiki with Martin.

Dylan on Dylan

For this week’s nightcap interview we caught up with musician Dylan Pratt, whose new single “Traveling Act” is available everywhere. His path to music was inspired by his musician father and a “cool friend who loved Led Zeppelin.” After quitting baseball, he picked up an acoustic guitar and never turned back. Grab a cold one as we chat with Dylan and discuss his journey.

Meet the Real Widow-Maker

For this week’s nightcap interview we sat down with Vince Oleson, the Head Distiller of Widow Jane Whiskey. As great whiskey distillers throughout the world – from Kentucky to Scotland – have long known, it takes sweet water from tough rock to make great whiskey. And, that’s what Widow Jane Heirloom Whiskey, distilled in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, is all about. Widow Jane Whiskey is a true New York City whiskey, evocative of both the rock that created the foundation for this city of skyscrapers and the forward looking, DIY spirit that has made Brooklyn the center of an artisanal food & beverage movement.
