For this week’s nightcap we caught up with Sebastien Derbomez, the U.S. Brand Ambassador for Monkey Shoulder Whisky. Sebastien’s career has taken him from London to Australia, and now the U.S. When Seb is not making cocktails or travelling the world to discover new cultures, he can be found out and about in New York looking for the closest pool table. Pull up a stool, and pour yourself a dram of your favorite as we chat with Seb.
For this week’s nightcap, we’ll take you to Suffolk Arms in New York’s Lower East Side for a chat with their mixologist, Nick Wright. Suffolk Arms is a modern cocktail pub by third-generation bartender Giuseppe González, whose hospitality-driven approach to mixology has taken center stage. They argue that drinks are now better made than at any point in cocktail history, with drinks devised by today’s pioneering craft bartenders who inspire them, like Julie Reiner, Gaz Regan and Audrey Saunders. They also feature omakase-style cocktails that are customized based on your spirit and flavor preferences. Grab your favorite cocktail as we sit and chat with Nick.
For this week’s nightcap interview we stopped by Noorman’s Kil in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to chat with one of the owners, Marcel Simoneau. With a selection of over 400 whiskies, Noorman’s Kil features one of the most impressive collections in New York. Pour yourself a dram and pull up a barstool as we chat with Marcel.
For this week’s nightcap interview we caught up with born and bred New Yorker Jennifer Sandella from Burger & Lobster. Jennifer’s first gig was an unlikely venue – as part of the bar team at Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. Unsatisfied with serving vodka sodas and electric-colored show-themed cocktails, she started experimenting with craft cocktailing at home. With brief stints at New York locations such as Bobo and Cedar Local, Jennifer honed her craft with excellent mentors before coming to Burger & Lobster as part of the opening bar team. Put on your bib as we crack some lobsters and grab a cocktail with Jennifer.
